BOLINGBROOK, IL (April 03, 2017) – The fourth annual Mower Madness has ended with a new champion. A three-time champion was dethroned, and the new Mower Madness Champion is BOB-CAT.
“Big congratulations to our Mower Madness winner BOB-CAT Mowers! It was a thrilling tourney and a tough match-up, but they deservedly clinched the number one spot,” said Jasmina Milankovic, Category Manager at Mowers Direct.
Round 5, which determined the Championship contenders, consisted of two very close match-ups. After winning three years in a row, Gravely met their match. BOB-CAT moved on to the Championship round in a hotly contested match-up with 50.4% of the votes. Honda surpassed John Deere with 53% of votes, finalizing yet another surprising upset to advance them to the Championship round to face off against BOB-CAT.
In the Championship, BOB-CAT and Honda were an exciting match-up. One moment, BOB-CAT would be in the lead; then the next moment, Honda would inch ahead. BOB-CAT pulled ahead for a sizable lead going into the final hours of the tournament, then Honda closed the gap in the final ten minutes.
When the dust settled, BOB-CAT took the win with 50.4% of the votes – officially making them the 2017 Mower Madness champions.
Ron Scheffler, Product Manager at BOB-CAT, said “We’re thankful to our loyal customers and fans who voted for us in this year’s Mower Madness. The BOB-CAT name represents high-quality and durable mowers, but it also represents the people who use our mowers everyday. We’re proud to support them, and we’re happy they support us, especially today!”
BOB-CAT manufactures zero-turn, walk-behind, and stand-on mowers for the consumers and commercial users. Their mowers are made in the USA at their facility in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin.
In addition to rallying their fans to vote, BOB-CAT showed it takes persistence to win. It all comes down to the final seconds on the clock. Winning by just 0.4% shows just how important it is to keep getting votes in until the final moment when the clock runs out. Their social media efforts consisted of posting reminders for each round of the tournament, and making a big push in the final moments to acquire the extra votes needed to secure the win. Their efforts certainly paid off.
